CALL For entries

Let’s fill Springfield Avenue with homemade scarecrows!


How it Works

  1. Register for a Pole by Sept 30. Anyone can sign up…. Families, Neighbors, Organizations, Businesses, Troops, Groups, Teams, Etc.

  2. We’ll be in touch with details and your lamppost assignment

  3. Do your prep off-site

  4. Install October 10th, 11th or 12th

  5. Vote for your favorite until October 31

  6. Nov (deadline TBD): Break ‘em down

Materials that SAM Provides

  • Haybales and zipties to secure your scarecrow to the lamppost.

  • Laminated sign to hang at your scarecrow (with the name of your scarecrow and the scarecrow-makers)

What makers should plan for

  • Creating the Scarecrow (design, scarecrow materials, crew)

  • Installing 10/11-10/12

  • Breakdown in November

Tips & Inspiration

  • Consider the weather. They will be in the elements, so consider that with your creation.

  • We’re not the first town to give this a whirl. We’ll update here with some inspiration from other towns.
