Clearing Snow and Ice from Sidewalks
I want to remind merchants of Springfield Avenue about removing snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of your businesses. If the property is adjacent to a crosswalk, the property is also responsible for clearing a path to the crosswalk all the way to the curb.
For the safety of your customers and pedestrians, it is recommended that you remove snow and ice within 4 hours after the end of a weather event.
(Note: The town ordinance requires that snow and ice be removed within 24 hours after the end of a weather event.)
If you are unsure whose responsibility it is (the tenant's or the landlord's), you should check the language of your lease.
